Things to Stop Doing to Yourself – #7

Each day for the month of December, I’ll be posting one of Marc and Angel’s “30 Things to Stop Doing to Yourself” with a little commentary from yours truly.

7) Stop being scared to make a mistake. – Doing something and getting it wrong is at least ten times more productive than doing nothing.  Every success has a trail of failures behind it, and every failure is leading towards success.  You end up regretting the things you did NOT do far more than the things you did.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again – never let your fear decide your fate.  And as I mentioned a few days ago, Ralph Waldo Emerson said “our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising up every time we fail.”

Get out there and make mistakes – that’s how we learn, how we adapt, how we improve, and how we rise above.  Success doesn’t happen instantaneously for most of us it’s a process.
